The 411 on Donation Yoga
First things first because I know about our human attention span. If you click the button above that says “Your Journey Begins With a Click of This Button” that will launch you to the most current recorded Zoom class. A new one will be uploaded daily. If you want a class other than what is offered at that link, say something more or less challenging, head to the CLASS LINKS page. There you can read the descriptions, access the most recent recorded Zoom classes, learn about joining a Live class, and you’ll see options to Donate. So let’s get to this Donation Yoga thing.
How did we end up here? It’s 2020. We’re stuck at home in a wild storm of emotions spanning fear, worry, exhaustion, frustration, to pure highs of appreciation, gratitude and joy of the the smallest things we once routinely over-looked. Honestly, I don’t know how we got here, but we’re here.
In the last several months those closest to, and including me, have experienced profound change. Collectively we’ve lost jobs, loved ones, engagement to our communities, teachers, friends and family that were once so readily nourishing. And some have lost connection to their sense of self, to purpose, meaning, to the serene center anchored with strength, hope, trust, resilience and inspiration; a light that burns within all of us. That light is not out or lost. And it’s my joy to help you rekindle yourself to its flame through the practice of yoga.
Teaching yoga, helping others connect to the emotions and thought patterns needed to move life forward is what gives me purpose. It allows me to use a natural skill, a gift I was given and want to share, especially during these disjointed times, when many are craving connection and healing.
Time however is not something I have to give so freely. I work a very full time job, I have my own quarantine self care needs to tend to, it does take more time than it might seem to uploaded, switch out, connect and cultivate the energy I need to create a meaningful experience for you. That’s where your donation, your gratuity is appreciated.
Give what you can. One dollar or 3, but not more than 10 per class. And if you can’t give money, don’t let that stop you from taking classes. I would only ask that you give yourself and those participating the best energy you have to share, even virtually. And you can always help me out by spreading the word to those in your friend and family network.
